Isis- Women's International Cross-Cultural Exchange (Isis WICCE), an international women's organization based in Kampala, Uganda is looking for an Editor.

Isis-WICCE is a dynamic non-governmental organization, committed to empowering women to improve their social, economic, and political situation through an international exchange of information, promotion of ideas, actions and solidarity networks.

The candidate should be a University graduate in Literature and/or Journalism with at least five years of experience.

The candidate should have advance knowledge and experience in desktop publishing; a thorough knowledge and experience of gender and development issues at the international, national and local levels. Experience in women's networking and campaign work and a record of working with international, or regional women's network would be highly desirable.

A good working knowledge of French and/or Spanish and the capacity to work in a multi-cultural/multi-racial team are also essential.

The Editor, in liaison with the Publication Coordinator will be responsible for the production of Isis-WICCE publication in English "Women's World", and in French "Monde des Femmes", as well as any other publications or books produced.

Non-Ugandans are encouraged to apply, but the candidate must be willing to work in Kampala, Uganda, and to travel when required. The post is initially for two years contract on a salary that is in line with other international NGOs in Uganda. A modest housing allowance commensurate with experience is also offered.
