The Bay Area Coalition for Our Reproductive Rights (BACORR)

is proud to present: A video showing of...

JANE: An Abortion Service
a documentary by Kate Kirtz and Nell Lundy
Jane was a Chicago-based women's health service. With no formal medical training, its members performed nearly 12,000 safe illegal abortions between 1969 and 1973. Jane: An Abortion Service collects the personal and political stories of this fascinating group. In rare interviews, former Jane members convey the courage and humor necessary to manage their underground clinic.

Jane: An Abortion Service touches on more than just illegal abortion. From its roots in the civil rights and anti-war movements to its members continued activism, Jane: An Abortion Service is the story of ordinary people doing extraordinary things. In this way it is a documentary for everyone interested in taking power, from health care to feminism to organizing and beyond.

This inspiring documentary has been accepted into the prestigious Sundance Video Festival.
