Creating a Women's Peace Platform for the 21st Century

What is the Women's Peace Platform? You can help bring together
women's ideas and concerns for peace in this platform, which will
be translated into four languages and distributed at the NGO Forum
in Beijing preceding the Fourth World Conference on Women,
September 1995.

Why a Women's Peace Platform? Throughout preparations for the
World Conference on Women the peace issue, one that affects all
women, has been nearly missing. Women must demand that our
concerns for peace, which affect all areas of life from
development to health to the environment, are included in the
Conference documents which set strategies for improving our
lives.

How will it be used? A draft version will be a lobby document
during the final preparatory meeting for the World Conference on
Women in March. The final version will be distributed to
thousands of women in Beijing to take home and adapt to the local
level.

How to contribute? Write brief paragraphs to fill in the gaps on
the conference documentation and send to IPB, address below.
