- Have 9 Papuan leaders in Irian Jaya recently been accused of plotting
against the state?
- Is the reason for this accusation, the participation in events for
which the authorities gave permission at the time?
- Can you ask the Indonesian authorities for clarification about the
purpose, reason and judicial ground for above-mentioned accusation?
- Can you also enquire with the Indonesian government how this judicial
action relates to the dialogue about the future of Irian Jaya as
promised by President Wahid?
- Can you exert your influence in order to prevent an escalation of
tensions between the authorities and the Papuan population?
- What is your opinion regarding these reports?
