The archive & library consists of digital documents representing all kinds of information from text (in the first stages of the project) to images and sound (in the future). The reason for constituting a WAAL is that, although the production and proliferation of electronic documents has been astronomic, there has very little been done for long term preservation of this kind of information.

In 1992 several months after the launch of the World Wide Web Antenna was asked to assist Greenpeace International to launch their first website.

The Seropositive Ball was a networked event that lasted 69 hours non-stop. It was a shadow conference to the World AIDS Conference, which was held the same days in San Francisco.

Rolf Pixley een Amerikaan bouwde in Amsterdam voor het Seropositive Ball met Hypercard in 1990 ook al een multi-media omgeving: tekst en foto’s in een soort on-line kunstgalerij.
